What to Watch
In this week's Netflix selections, once again follow the different sides of the war on drugs, from smugglers and dealers to cops and users, tracing the conflict all across the world. Watch four young women during their last two weeks in high school and how they deal with the changes they are about to face in their lives. Finally, a dying photographer takes a road trip with his nurse and estranged son in order to have rolls of Kodachrome film developed at the last photo lab that still processes it.
- Dope - Season 2 - This original documentary series returns for its second season, again taking a look at the war on drugs from different perspectives, including the dealers who fight in it, the police that wage it, and the users who become victims of it. This season, the cameras follow the the drug war across Indiana, the Caribbean, Detroit, and Atlanta.
- Dude - This Netflix original movie follows four best friends as they look ahead to the big changes that are about consume their lives during their last two weeks of high school. The girls each process these changes in their own each wondering what the future means for their friendship.
- Kodachrome - A dying photographer brings his estranged son, a record executive, on a road trip to Parsons, Kansas, in order to have four rolls of Kodachrome film developed at the last photo lab in the world that still processes it.
Coming Attractions
As always, this week on Netflix sees a new set of original shows hit the service, starts with the second season of, 3%, in which a group of rebels continue their efforts to take down their country's system, which separates the extreme haves and have-nots using a series of tests called the Process. In the original film Candy Jar, high school debate rivals find themselves growing closer as they enact a plan that should guarantee their places in prestigious colleges. Finally, The Week Of follows two fathers in the run up to the wedding of their children as they clash over everything from accommodations for out-of-town guests to the catering for the reception.
- 3% - Season 2 - Set in a dystopian future in which people hope to be sent to a place called the Offshore to live in a practical paradise, candidates must go through a series of tests to determine their eligibility, the Process, which only 3% pass. In the second season, as a new Process approaches, the rebel group known as the Cause plan to wipe out the system once and for all as Michele finds herself torn between the Cause and the government. Arrives April 27.
- Candy Jar - This Netflix original film centers on two high schoolers, rivals on their school's debate team. Both passionate and driven, the life-long enemies find themselves growing closer as they team up for an ambitious plan to secure places in the colleges of their dreams. Arrive April 27.
- The Week Of - In the week leading up to the wedding of their respective children, two fathers with opposing viewpoints on the upcoming nuptials do their level best to keep everything together even as their efforts start coming apart at the seams, from a bad hotel for the out-of-town guests to the problems with the catering. Arrives April 27.
