Best iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X Wireless Chargers

http://ift.tt/2yxKp18

The iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X all support the Qi standard wireless charging. That means preexisting chargers work with iPhone right away!

Apple's latest line of iPhone is easier to charge than any previous Apple device ever. That's because they support the Qi standard of wireless charging. The Qi standard has been around for a while now, so companies have been perfecting their products, which is great for iPhone 8 or iPhone X owners that have never had the luxury of wireless charging before. Here are the best Qi standard wireless charging pads you can get for the iPhone right now.

Mophie Wireless charging base

Apple called out Mophie when it first announced that the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X would support Qi wireless charging technology. Mophie's little charging disc is definitely an important addition to anyone's iPhone X list. Since Apple added Qi wireless charger support to its line of iPhones, you're going to love being able to just toss your iPhone on the table and walk away while it charges.

This little guy supports 7.5-watt power for fast charging and has a small footprint on your desk or nightstand. The non-slip coating on top adds security against possible drops if you don't quite toss your iPhone at the right angle [editor's note: don't toss your iPhone].

Later this year, there will be a software update that will add fast-charging support for iPhone. It comes in black and costs $59.95.

Belkin Boost Up Wireless Charging Pad

Apple also called out Belkin when it first announced that the iPhone 8, iPhone 8, Plus, and iPhone X would support wireless charging. This $60 wireless charging pad offers 5 watts of power with a 7.5W transmitter coil for fast charging of supported devices and is small enough to practically fit in your back pocket. The face of the pad is made from soft griping materials to prevent from scratching the back of your glass iPhone.

Samsung Fast Charging Wireless Charging Convertible

I was a little resistant to try out this particular charging pad at first. After all, it's built for Samsung so why would anyone care whether it worked for iPhone. Turns out, it works great!

It supports up to 9 watts of fast charging with compatible devices and hits the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X with all the juice it needs to get a full charge. It's a small disc, about the same circumfrence as the Mophie Wireless charging base, and has a nice little extra special feature.

It's got a convertible base so you can charge your iPhone while laying flat or standing upright. I like to flip it up before I go to bed at night so I can easily tap the SNOOZE button on my alarm in the morning.

The latest version comes in black and costs about $89.99 at Best Buy, but you can get it on sale right now for about $65 from Samsung directly.

Scosche MagicMount Charge for home/office

If you want to be able to keep an eye on your iPhone screen while it charges, the MagicMount charger positions your device upright using a standing mount. The charger is mounted to your desk or table using a suction cup base and it has an adjustable head for different angling. Instead of a cradle, the MagicMount uses magnetic connection with a "MagicPlate," which I'm guessing is some sort of metal plate that you stick to the back of your iPhone (how the doesn't interrupt the charging transmitter, I do not know. I guess that's why they call it "magic").

The $79.99 MagicMount home charger won't be available until October, but you can sign up for email notification when it's available to purchase.

Anker Wireless Charging Pad

The Anker wireless charging pad is a sleek, slim pad that has a 10W power supply for fast-charging devices but also switches to 5W charging for non-fast charging devices. It has a nice, subtle LED status system that pulses slowly while charging so it's less intrusive in your bedroom at night. Though it is recommended that you remove the case before charging, users have confirmed that it works through cases just fine. You can pick up the Anker wireless charger for about $22.

iOttie Easy One Touch Wireless charging car mount

iPhone owners, rejoice! Charging our phones while driving just got hella cool. The one thing I hate about using a phone mount in my car is that, if it starts to run low on juice, I've got to plug in the cable, which is not easy to do while driving. iOttie makes a slim, sleek Qi wireless charger with an adjustable telescoping arm. It uses suction cup mounting, which I've never really had much success with, but you can get a dashboard pad to get a better grip if your dashboard is textured or curved. The iOttie Easy One Touch costs $50.
