Apple Releases macOS High Sierra Security Update to Fix Root Password Vulnerability

Apple today released Security Update 2017-001 for macOS High Sierra version 10.13.1 and later to fix a serious bug that enables access to the root superuser on a Mac with a blank password.


The security update is rolling out on the Mac App Store now for macOS High Sierra users. We highly recommend installing it as soon as possible.
