How do you install macOS High Sierra? Here's how!

Apple has released macOS High Sierra 10.3.1, introducing more than 70 new emoji, fixes for a Wi-Fi security vulnerability and a Bluetooth bug that could crop up while trying to use Apple Pay, and other small improvements.

How to download and install macOS High Sierra updates

  1. Click on the Apple Menu icon in the upper left corner of your Mac's screen.
  2. Select App Store from the drop down menu.
  3. Click Update next to macOS Sierra in the Updates section of the Mac App Store.

    • Your Mac will need to restart after the download has been installed, so make sure your save your progress for any program you are currently working in.

You don't have to manually update macOS every time a new one launches. You can turn on automatic updates and it will download in the background.

Need to install the latest version of macOS High Sierra on a blank disk? You'll need a full copy of the installer. Here's how to get it.

  1. Click on the Apple icon () in the upper left corner of your screen.
  2. Click on App Store...

  3. Click on the Purchased tab in the Mac App Store window.
  4. Select macOS High Sierra from the list of purchased apps.
  5. Click Download.

  6. Click Continue when asked to confirm that you want to install software that is already on your computer.
  7. Click install after macOS Sierra is finished downloading.
  8. Complete the installation process.
